Mexican food has become one of the most popular Americanized forms of ethnic cuisine. While I love Mexican food and understand its popularity, along with its replication comes a loss of authenticity. Authentic Mexican cuisine is absolutely delicious, and in an effort to locate some nearby, I tried Taqueria Mexico in Waltham, MA.
The ambiance and waitstaff are authentic, and the menu is expansive to say the least. Items typically too legitimate to make it to the menu at commercial Mexican-ish restaurants are available and frankly look divine. They also serve breakfast which is fantastic.
Because there’s nothing like an amazing fajita dish, and it is one of the most popular dishes, I opted to try it here. Fantastic. Served with the usual side items, I had more than enough left over to enjoy later.
Important note: the margaritas are made perfectly – none of that gross sour mix with a splash of tequila business – agave, tequila, lime juice and salt. Perfection.
